PalmView (hereinafter referred to as "PalmView" or "the Product") is a software-and-hardware integrated product provided by Shenzhen Windstart Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "the Company").
The smart hardware devices refer to PalmView smart cameras (hereinafter "Camera") and PalmView smart doorbell devices (hereinafter "Doorbell"). The mobile client software refers to the application that, once bound to the smart hardware, allows you to manage the device (hereinafter "the App"). Through the App you can view real-time and recorded videos captured by the smart hardware. We also provide image/video event alerts, sound event alerts, and two-way voice intercom features.

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter "this Policy") explains how we collect, use, store, share, and transfer your personal information and the information of the smart hardware devices when you use the PalmView App, as well as the ways we provide for you to access, update, delete, and protect such information. Please read and understand this Policy carefully before using the App and only use our products and services after you confirm that you fully understand and agree to it. By starting to use PalmView's products and services, you acknowledge that you have fully understood and agreed to this Policy and consent to our collection, use, storage, and sharing of your relevant information in accordance with this Policy. 11. Third-party SDK information collection notice
We will collect and use your personal information as described in this Policy, including sensitive personal information such as images and information of you and your family, location information, call records via the Camera, and purchase/consumption records related to the Camera. The purposes and uses of collecting such sensitive information are detailed in the feature descriptions below. Once leaked, illegally provided, or misused, sensitive personal information may endanger personal and property safety, easily leading to damage to personal reputation, physical or mental health, or discriminatory treatment. Therefore, we will use compliant technologies to encrypt and store the sensitive information you have explicitly consented to and actively provided. Where we obtain your personal information indirectly through sharing, transfer, or collection of public information, we will clearly notify you and only obtain the minimum amount of information necessary to fulfill the business function of the product or service. We will obtain your express consent before collection and use, and we will ensure the legality of the source, including the scope of the data subject's authorization (purpose, transfer, sharing, public disclosure). If our processing exceeds the scope of authorization, we will obtain your express consent again within a reasonable period.
Details of the purposes and uses of the information we collect are as follows:
Core functions are the basic features that support the App and the services we provide. If you do not consent to our collection and use of personal information necessary to provide our services, you will not be able to use the Product.
1. Information collected through account registration. After installing the PalmView App on your phone, you must register or log in to a PalmView account to use the App. When you register, you must provide a phone number and set an account password, or use WeChat login. Based on our cooperation with WeChat, when you use "WeChat Login," with your express consent, WeChat will send your WeChat ID to us so that we can provide a quick login service. Refusing to provide a WeChat ID will prevent you from using "WeChat Login," but it will not affect other registration methods or other functions. You may modify your avatar and password via "Me -> Account Management." When you cancel your PalmView account, we will stop using and delete the above information or anonymize your personal information, except as otherwise required by laws and regulations.
2. Binding smart hardware devices. After logging in to the App, you can bind a device through QR scanning, sound-wave pairing, or local network discovery. To enable binding, we need to obtain your location information (used to retrieve the WiFi list), WiFi network information, the on/off and network status of the device and phone, the device model, your phone's carrier, operating system and version, phone model, and local storage. The above information is uploaded to our servers to prevent unauthorized access to and management of the device, thereby better protecting the security of your information. You may unbind a device and delete all your personal information related to it via "Settings -> Unbind and Delete this Camera" or "Settings -> Unbind and Delete this Doorbell."
3. Viewing video captured by the smart hardware. Once a device is bound, you can view real-time and historical video through the App. You can also save video locally or share it with friends via third-party applications. When you share via third parties, we do not collect any information about your third-party application (including its account info). When your phone is connected to WiFi, you are logged in, and you have either purchased the "Cloud Recording" service or inserted a memory card into the device, you can view and manage historical recordings via "Cloud Recording" or "SD Recording." When using "Cloud Recording," and the device is powered on and connected to WiFi, we will upload all recorded video to our servers in encrypted form for cross-device synchronization and protection. Such files are retained for 7 days only. With "SD Recording," videos are stored only locally on your device and will not be uploaded to our servers.
Please note that videos captured by the smart hardware may record facial features of you, your family, or third parties. To protect privacy and respect everyone's privacy rights, please fully understand the responsibilities, obligations, and rights of both you and us when installing, using, and managing the device. Videos are important private information of you and your family. If uploaded, we will strictly encrypt and store them on our servers, will not use them elsewhere, and will not share them with any third party.
4. Managing the smart hardware device. Once bound, you can manage the device via "Camera -> Settings," including naming the camera, service scenes, loitering alert, tamper alert, do-not-disturb at home, smart home guard, and family album; or via "Doorbell -> Settings," including doorbell detection range, loitering alert, tamper alert, do-not-disturb at home, and doorbell push messages. When enabling "Do-Not-Disturb at Home," you must authorize us to obtain your phone's MAC address to confirm that your phone is on the same WiFi network as the device. The settings and information you provide will be uploaded to our servers as instructions to the device.
5. Doorbell phone-call feature. When you miss a doorbell call within the App, the doorbell will send an SMS to your phone number to notify you. The SMS service is provided by telecom carriers. To enable this feature, we need to share your bound phone number with the carrier. To ensure timely call delivery, the carrier will save the corresponding call records and recordings. We require carriers to encrypt and store such information securely.
Additional features are services other than core functions and third-party functions and require you to opt in. We will not collect your personal information for features you have not enabled. You may also disable additional features at any time via the paths described below; afterwards we will no longer collect or use your personal information for them, and your use of the App's core functions will not be affected.
1. Screenshot and recording. This feature allows you to take screenshots while viewing recorded video. The screenshots are visible in your phone's local Photos. Your screenshots are uploaded to the server for cross-device synchronization. We will not use them elsewhere or share them with any third party.
2. Motion detection. We perform recognition on video captured by the device to provide motion alerts and family safety protection. You may view motion detections from the past two days in front of the device (especially the doorbell), along with the related videos. You may also enable or disable notifications and detection in the camera settings.
3. Sharing the smart hardware device. You may share the device via WeChat or invite friends with their phone number. When you share the device QR code via WeChat, we will not obtain any information about your WeChat account.
To ensure secure and stable operation as well as quality and efficiency of the service, we collect your hardware model, OS version, IMEI, MAC address, IP address, software version, network access method and type, and operation logs.

To provide better services and sustain our products, we may display advertisements within the App. To deliver and optimize ads, we use third-party advertising SDKs that may collect your device information (e.g., OAID, device model, OS version) for ad delivery and effectiveness statistics. You may limit ad tracking or reset ad identifiers in your system settings. On iOS, you can manage App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization via the system prompt or "Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Tracking."
We will take reasonable and feasible measures to avoid collecting irrelevant personal information. We will retain your personal information only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Personal information collected and generated within the People's Republic of China is stored within China. If we need to transfer your personal information outside of China for storage or processing, we will obtain your consent and ensure that such cross-border transfers comply with applicable laws.
